Regional Medical Director – Texas

Maverick.MD is partnering with a growing national physician group to recruit a full-time Regional Medical Director.

This is a leadership role, not a rounding role: you will guide physicians and clinical leaders, driving clinical quality and outcomes across the region's facilities.

This position involves supporting new business development, strengthening the performance of the existing portfolio, mentoring clinicians, leading regional practice meetings, and helping recruit and onboard new clinicians. You will also contribute to the annual budget and take part in monthly operating reviews.

What you'll do

• Lead regional medical directors, clinical leaders, and clinical educators
• Drive clinical quality and outcomes across a portfolio of post-acute care facilities
• Partner with operations leadership to advance growth and performance
• Support new business development and strengthen the performance of the existing portfolio
• Mentor clinicians and build a positive, performance-driven culture
• Schedule, attend, and lead regional practice meetings
• Help recruit and onboard clinicians and clinical leaders
• Contribute to annual budgets and monthly operating reviews

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification
• An active, unrestricted Texas medical license or the ability to obtain one
• Five or more years leading clinicians, with a track record of strong quality outcomes
• Working knowledge of value-based care and quality metrics
• No unresolved disciplinary issues

Compensation

~$300,000 + 30% bonus

Travel and location

• Significant travel during the initial ramp-up period, settling to about 20% ongoing
• Must live in Texas: Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or another Texas city with convenient airport access
