Medical Director – Jackson, MI

About the role

Maverick.MD is recruiting on behalf of a growing physician group for a full-time medical director to lead its post-acute care program in Jackson, Michigan.

You'll provide clinical leadership across skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, with daytime rounding and no night call.

This role blends direct patient care with medical directorship responsibilities.

What you'll do

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the post-acute care program across partner facilities
• Round in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, delivering high-quality patient care
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans based on patient needs
• Partner with facility leadership on quality improvement initiatives and care standards
• Mentor and support physicians and advanced practice clinicians on the care team
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulations

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active Michigan medical license and DEA registration
• Board certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or a related specialty
• Experience in post-acute, skilled nursing, or long-term care settings; prior leadership experience preferred
• Strong clinical foundation and knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented leadership approach
• No unresolved disciplinary issues.

Compensation

Compensation is based on a fee-for-service model with estimated annual compensation totaling ~$255,000-300,000.
